Welcome to my website!
I am Allison McLeod & I am a bodyworker.
Here’s the question I ask when deciding how best to assist a client or student:
What needs to MOVE?
Movement frees us by releasing the tension that inhabits and inhibits us.
The right movement in the moment may be deep tissue work to dissolve layers of stress.
It may be the proper motion to stretch a hamstring or a psoas muscle & reorient the pelvis.
Or it may be the minute & precise manipulation of cranial bones, or the release of stored emotion contributing to physical pain.
Here are the two principles that I work from:
1. Working with the fascia is a brilliant way to move what needs to be moved. The fascia is the 3-D structural support system that encases every muscle, organ, and tissue of the body. It holds tension, superficial and deep to the core of the body, memory, habit patterns, and countless pain receptors. It is our key organ of sensory perception.
2. Pretty much, whatever the condition or goal we are working on, it's better done with attention to soothing, calming, and balancing the autonomic nervous system. Put another way, we all need to relax, to slow down at times, to find easier access and connection to the innate part of us that knows how to heal.
I offer three modalities based on these two principles to meet you where you are in creating more internal balance and freedom.
