I earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from College of Charleston in 1996. From there, my continued exploration with the mind soon led me to get in touch with the roots of my body, by way of getting in the dirt. I completed an Associate degree in Horticulture from Trident Technical College in Charleston, and after several years of working in the field, decided to deepen my knowledge of anatomy and do some personal (interior) house cleaning by going to massage school.
I finished Sedona School of Massage in Sedona, Arizona, in 2009 and am nationally certified in massage and bodywork (LMBT). Along with studies in Reiki and Shamanic Energy Medicine, I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Integral Yoga through Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville and a 200 hour and 500 hour yoga teacher training through Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC. I gained an advanced level of recognition by logging more than 2000 hours of teaching time (RYT E-500) in 2016 and through those experiences developed a signature Back Care Yoga program.
After years of work and fascination with CranioSacral Therapy I earned techniques certification (CST-T) from the Upledger Institute International, and this particular work has become one of my greatest passions. I have taught yoga since 2006 and had a full-time private practice in bodywork since 2009. Professional Associations include being registered with Yoga Alliance, being a Medallion Member of the International Association of HealthCare Practitioners, and being a Teaching Assistant with the Upledger Institute.
I live happily with my cute and hilarious husband and even cuter and more hilarious son in Black Mountain, NC. We have an adorable and super mischievous beagle named Mose. Recently added to the family is a beautiful border collie mix named Hank.
